Dear DB friends and volunteers:

On Saturday, August 16, we will have a picnic at beautiful Peace Valley Park near Doylestown, PA (Bucks County). Admission is free, although we do appreciate it if you bring a food item or some drinks. Come join us for a day of fun in the great outdoors!
We will have our own private picnic pavilion (not the same one as last year) with picnic tables, trash cans and a grill. Good bathrooms are near the pavilion. We’ll have the two-seater trike available for rides. There is a fishing pier near us (bring your own fishing equipment). There is a place to rent boats on the opposite side of the lake with paddleboats, rowboats and sailboats. We may rent a boat for people to take turns with, as we did last year. If someone knows how to operate a sailboat, we’ll consider renting one. There are miles of good hiking and biking trails. If anyone is willing to share a traditional tandem bike, we’d appreciate that.
If it rains a bit, we have a large roofed area to keep us dry. The event will only be cancelled if weather conditions are really bad—occasional showers won’t hurt us.
It is a good idea to bring sunscreen, insect repellant and a hat. If bringing food, it’s advisable to use a covered container, as we will be outside. See the list below for suggestions on what to bring and let us know what you will bring when you sign up.
Kids are welcome.

Where: Peace Valley Park, 230 Creek Rd, Doylestown, PA 18901, (215) 822-8608. We’re in pavilion #3 on the northwest side of the lake. This link shows a map of the park. Our pavilion is marked P – 3. You may want to print this map out to help you find the spot.

PLEASE let Scott Stoffel know if you plan to attend. We need an idea of how many people are coming and who is bringing what. Also, if you are DB and need a ride to/from the event, let Scott know. (See contact info below.) We encourage everyone to bring a food item for the picnic buffet or some drinks (see list below). Please specify what you plan to bring when you RSVP.
